In creating colouring books, Christine found that the world of illustration encouraged feelings of calm and happiness. She discovered that other adult colourists find that the art of colouring is very therapeutic. Colouring can be particularly calming for those who are interested in mediation and deep relaxation and getting in touch with their inner selves.
Colouring books are wonderful to use at any age, but now there are many art therapy colouring books aimed specifically at adults. Just like the "good old days" when families gathered round to enjoy a game of cards or Scrabble, colouring books can be equally fun to do in a group or alone!
Christine's library includes pet inspired drawings: the dog breed series "Paws for Thought" features Dachshunds, Pugs, Pit Bulls, French Bulldogs, Labrador and German Shepherd colouring books. "Kitties Galore" is a series of cat colouring books that feature whimsical and fun illustrations - "Cats and Roses" and "Cute Halloween Cats" are the first two titles with more to come.
"Fabulous Women" and "Angels with Nature are figurative books depicting scenes including lovely ladies and angels designed to challenge even the most experienced colourists.
She is currently working on a series of mug designs and is excited about her new project - cartoons of every imaginable dog breed to feature on mugs and other gifts. A new colouring book will be launched in March.
Christine has a degree in Theatre Design: Technical Arts Interpretation from Wimbledon School of Art, London. She has worked on many productions, but she definitely prefers the gentler work of illustrating, now that she has a very active four year old son: Matteo!
